Video - Daily Prayer for Miracles & Love

Prayer for Daily Patience

Heavenly Father, help me realize that the jerk who cut me off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.

Help me to see that the pierced, tattooed, distracted young man who can't make correct change is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting a student loan for next semester.
Remind me, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions I can only imagine in my worst nightmares.
Help me to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking my shopping progress are savoring this moment, because, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year they will shop together.
Heavenly Father, remind me each day that, of all the gifts you give me, the greatest gift is your love. Open my heart not only to those I hold dear, but to all people. Let me be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.
Amen.

Prayer of Understanding

He is with us in our pain
He is with us in our sorrow
He is with us when we fall
He is with us when we get back up
He is with us in the darkness
He is with us in the light
And God is with all of us
Whether we ask for him or not
He sends us signs
He sends us hope
He stays with us when others go
He is our rock
He s our salvation
All we need to do is trust, believe and never question Gods’ intentions.

Heavenly Father we ask that you provide each of us the strength to understand,

trust and not question your words but rather give us the strength
to give everything up to you and let you continue your plan for us.

Amen

Prayer for our Marriage - Video

Psalm 22 - Video

God guide my feet & my mouth

Dear Lord,

I need Your help today.

The path is dark without You and I stumble along the way.

I don't want to fall and I don't want to trip others in the process.

Please shine Your light before my feet and guide me in Your truth.

Lead me only where You would have me to go and keep me from causing trouble.

Lord, please set a watch over my mouth and tongue that my words would bring help and healing.

May they never be used to wound and destroy and, Lord, forgive me for those times when I have not been so careful what words have escaped my lips.

May I follow in Your footsteps, Lord, and encourage others to do the same.

And, Jesus, thank you for a Hand to hold along the way.

I need You every day.

Amen

A prayer when God seems hidden

We rejoice in your reign Lord!
With all of your heritage we are glad.
Though you seem hidden at times,
We trust in your righteousness and justice.

In confidence we rest in your protection.
Your presence in our lives consumes the enemies of our souls.
Though the earth trembles and mountains melt like wax,
We will rest in your goodness and rejoice in your love.

The heavens proclaim your righteousness Lord.
And all the peoples bear the glory of your image.
While many shamefully put their trust in money and possessions,
We will worship you and hope in your goodness forever.

We your people hear the good news and we are glad.
For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth.
Though you are exalted and fill all of the universe,
We are in awe of your presence in our hearts.

We confess our need of you Lord. Cause us to hate evil!
Lead us Lord and protect from evil desires.
Thank you for protecting and delivering us!
We praise you for the light and joy in our lives.

We rejoice in you Lord and give thanks to your holy name!

Amen

(based on Psalm 97)

Lord help me to do your will

Holy Father, remove from my soul, I pray,
my own will and graft on it yours
so that your will and not mine is always done.

Just as when one cuts a branch from a tree

and grafts on a better one,
its fruit is also much better,
remove from this tree, Oh Father,
the little branch of my will
and graft on it your holy will;
then I will be certain that it will bear beautiful fruit.

~St. Francis de Sales

Prayer against folly

O God, give us grace to walk humbly
and save us from pretension
and every arrogant folly.
You have made us, and not we ourselves.
Help us to remember the limits
of our power and our wisdom,
but help us, also,
to do our duty within the limits
of our power and our wisdom.

- Reinhold Niebuhr   (The same man who wrote the Serenity Prayer!)

The Desperation Prayer

“Lord, Your Word says that you are ‘the only wise God’ and I am desperately in need of You at this time.

I’m in a situation human wisdom can’t fix.

There’s only one way out- that’s through You!

Send the spirit of wisdom and show me which way to go.

Send the spirit of revelation to help me understand what I can’t figure out, for nobody but you can get me through this.

Help me to faithfully obey all You show me to do, and to remember that sometimes the wisdom of this world is foolishness to You.

Help me to know the difference between human advice and godly advice, and to choose Your way.

I submit this situation to You and commit myself to following You, knowing You’ve promised to direct my steps.

Help me to walk this road with confidence in You; with the courage that comes from knowing I am Yours.

Help me to cling to my convictions, yet still love those who misunderstand me.

Keep me far from anger and close to Your heart.

And though it’s an uphill climb, take my hand, light my way and help me walk on, for in the end I know that all things will work together for my good and Your Glory:

 in Christ’s name, Amen.”

The dictionary defines these three words as follows:

2. Good judgement
3. Accumulated learning
4. The enlighten understanding of what is true or right.
Knowledge:1. The state or fact of knowing.
2. Familiarity, awareness, or understanding gained through experience or study.
Understanding:1. Comprehension
2. Intelligence
3. Individual or specific judgment or outlook in a matter; opinion; interpretation

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you and watch over you.

- Psalm 32:8

Prayer for the work we begin

May the work that we will soon begin  sing praise to you.
May the work that we will soon begin speak like the prophets of old of your beauty and unity.
May the work that we will soon begin be a shimmering mirror of your handiwork
in the excellence of its execution,
in the joy of doing it,
in our poverty of ownership over it,
in our invitation to others to share in it,
and in its bearing fruit for the Lasallian world.
May we be aware that through this work we draw near to you. We come to you with ready hands.
    Amen!

Prayer as we begin our work today

In the name of our God who is three in one:
The Creator who calls us into existence,
The Christ who calls us to be of service to one another,
The Holy Spirit who calls us to new life,
We pray . . . Creator God, we are about to begin our work today,
and we do so with the awareness that without your Divine Presence here at the center of our work,
and also within ourselves, our work will be empty.
    Grace us with your Wisdom and Vision;
gift us with Humor and Humility so that not only this meeting but all our lives
may be a meeting place for your Kingdom.
We ask this in Jesus' name.
    Amen.

Goodness - a video to inspire

Make Me An Instrument of Your Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love,

Where there is injury, pardon

Where there is doubt, faith,

Where there is despair, hope,

Where there is darkness, light,

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much

seek to be consoled as to console,

not so much to be understood as to understand,

not so much to be loved, as to love;

for it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.

~ by St. Francis of Assisi

The Evening Family Prayer

Lord, behold our family here assembled.

We thank you for this place in which we dwell,

for the love that unites us,

for the peace accorded to us this day,

for the hope with which we expect the morrow,

for the health, the work, the food and the bright skies

that make our lives delightful,

for our friends in all parts of the earth.

Amen.

A prayer by the Poet Robert Louis Stevenson

O God, Open Our Eyes

O God,
Open our eyes that we may see the needs of others,
Open our ears that we may hear their cries,
Open our hearts that we may feel their anguish and their joy.

Let us not be afraid to defend the oppressed, the poor, the powerless, because of the anger and might of the powerful.

Show us where love and hope and faith are needed, and use us to bring them to those places.

Open our ears and eyes, our hearts and lives, that we may in these coming days be able to do some work of justice and peace for you.

Amen.

Prayer for Truthful Living

God judges us according to our deeds, not the coat that we wear.

Truth is above everything, but higher still is truthful living.

Know that we attain God when we love, and only that victory endures in consequence of which no one is defeated.

Prayer to help me be

Be generous in prosperity and thankful in adversity.

Be fair in thy judgment and guarded in thy speech.

Be a lamp unto those who walk in darkness and a home to the stranger.

Be eyes to the blind and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.

Be a breath of life to the body of humankind, a dew to the soil of the human heart, and a fruit upon the tree of humility.

Prayer to end all misery in the world

We pray to God to eradicate all the misery in the world,

that understanding triumph over ignorance,

that generosity triumph over contempt,

and that truth triumph over falsehood.

The Akita Prayer

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist,

I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your heart,

being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world

and giving praise to the Father pleading for the coming of His Kingdom.

Please receive this humble offering of myself.

Use me as You will for the glory of the Father and salvation of souls.

Most Holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from Your Divine Son.

Please defend and protect me as Your special child.

Amen.

This is a very special, traditional Catholic Prayer.

In 1973 the Blessed Mother appeared to Sister Agnes Sasagawa in Akita Japan. In these apparitions Sister Agnes received this beautiful from the Blessed Mother.
